I Know I Want to Look Better—But I Don’t Know What I Need
A trusted, physician-led guide to cosmetic treatments through every decade

You do not need to know which treatment to book. You do not need to understand the difference between BBL, CO2, Ultherapy, microneedling or filler. You do not even need to know exactly what is bothering you.

At Zand Dermatology, we begin by listening. What has changed? What still feels beautifully like you? Are you looking for a subtle refresh or a more meaningful correction? What level of downtime, maintenance and investment feels comfortable?

Just as importantly, you need a physician you can trust—someone who will tell you what may make a genuine difference, what can wait and what you may not need at all.

Our role is not to sell you every treatment we offer. Sometimes the best recommendation is one treatment, better skincare or simply doing nothing yet.

Our philosophy is simple: natural results, honest guidance and less—but better—treatment.

In Your 20s: Protect and Prevent

Your 20s are about building healthy habits, protecting collagen and addressing concerns that affect your confidence.

We may recommend:

  • Daily sunscreen and personalized medical-grade skincare
  • Acne and acne-scar treatment
  • Chemical peels, Hydrafacials and customized facials
  • Microneedling with or without exosomes
  • BBL for sun damage and pigmentation
  • Vascular laser for redness and visible vessels
  • Conservative Botox, Dysport, Xeomin or Daxxify
  • Subtle lip or facial filler

Most patients in their 20s do not need an extensive cosmetic plan. Healthy skin and thoughtful prevention usually matter more than chasing every trend.

In Your 30s: Maintain Collagen and Soften Early Changes

In your 30s, you may begin to notice lingering expression lines, sun damage, redness, uneven texture or subtle changes around the eyes and cheeks.

We may recommend:

  • Botox, Dysport, Xeomin or Daxxify
  • BBL or vascular laser
  • Microneedling with or without exosomes
  • Chemical peels and customized facials
  • Subtle cheek, lip or lower-face filler
  • Carefully selected tear-trough filler
  • Ultherapy for early laxity

This decade is often about maintaining what you have—not changing your face.

In Your 40s: Restore Structure, Collagen and Brightness

In your 40s, collagen loss, hormonal changes and accumulated sun exposure may become more visible. You may look tired even when you feel well, or notice changes in facial structure and skin texture.

We may recommend:

  • Botox, Dysport, Xeomin or Daxxify
  • Ultherapy for lifting and collagen stimulation
  • Cheek, temple or lower-face filler
  • A conservative liquid facelift
  • BBL and vascular laser
  • Microneedling with or without exosomes
  • Chemical peels and facials
  • Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing

Combination treatment can be especially effective. Small improvements in several areas often look more natural than aggressively treating one feature.

In Your 50s: Support Menopausal Skin and Restore What Time Has Softened

During the menopausal years, declining estrogen can affect hydration, collagen, elasticity and healing. Skin may feel thinner or drier, while changes in facial volume and definition become more noticeable.

We may recommend:

  • Menopause-aware medical-grade skincare
  • Botox, Dysport, Xeomin or Daxxify
  • Ultherapy
  • Strategic cheek, temple and lower-face filler
  • A natural-looking liquid facelift
  • Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing
  • BBL and vascular laser
  • Microneedling with exosomes
  • Chemical peels, Hydrafacials and customized facials
  • Hand rejuvenation

The goal is not to erase every sign of age. It is to restore light, softness and structure so your appearance reflects how vibrant you feel.

In Your 60s, 70s and Beyond: Focus on What Matters Most

Beautiful results are possible at every age. The key is choosing treatments thoughtfully and being honest about what nonsurgical care can—and cannot—accomplish.

We may recommend gentle neuromodulators, strategic filler, fractional CO2 resurfacing, Ultherapy, BBL, vascular laser, microneedling, chemical peels, hydrating facials and rejuvenation of the hands, neck and décolletage.

At this stage, more is not necessarily better. We prioritize treatments that can create meaningful improvement while preserving your expression, character and individuality.

Start With Your Concern—not a Treatment Name

“My face looks tired.”
Depending on the cause, we may consider cheek or temple filler, tear-trough correction, Botox, Ultherapy or treatments to improve dullness and sun damage.

“My skin is sagging.”
Ultherapy can stimulate collagen and gradually firm the face, jawline and neck. When laxity is more significant, we will also be honest about the limitations of nonsurgical treatment.

“My skin looks dull or uneven.”
BBL, chemical peels, microneedling, facials or medical-grade skincare may help restore brightness and clarity.

“I have brown spots and sun damage.”
BBL can improve unwanted pigmentation, while fractional CO2 resurfacing may be appropriate when sun damage is accompanied by deeper texture changes.

“My face is always red.”
Vascular laser treatments can target rosacea, facial redness and visible blood vessels.

“My wrinkles are there even when I’m not moving.”
Depending on their depth and location, we may recommend fractional CO2 resurfacing, microneedling, filler, skincare or a combination approach.

“I don’t look like myself anymore.”
This is where trust matters most. We evaluate facial structure, volume, movement, skin quality and laxity to identify the smallest number of treatments likely to make a meaningful difference.

Why Your Cosmetic Physician Matters

Cosmetic treatments are medical procedures—not simply beauty services. Your physician should understand facial anatomy, skin biology, medical risks, healing and the long-term effects of repeated treatment.

A physician you trust should be comfortable saying:

“You don’t need that.”

“That treatment probably won’t give you enough improvement.”

“Let’s start with one thing and reassess.”

“There is a less expensive way to address this.”

“This would be better treated surgically.”

“You already look beautiful. Let’s preserve that.”

At Zand Dermatology, your cosmetic plan is grounded in physician-led medical judgment—not a sales quota. Protecting your trust matters more than selling you a treatment today.

What Happens During Your Cosmetic Consultation?

We listen to what bothers you—and what you do not want changed. We evaluate your skin, facial movement, volume, proportions and laxity, then discuss what could genuinely help.

We explain expected results, downtime, risks and maintenance, and prioritize options around your goals, timeline and budget.

We will also tell you what can wait, what may not be worthwhile and what you can comfortably skip.

You will not be handed an overwhelming treatment menu simply because treatments are available.

You Should Still Look Like You

The best cosmetic dermatology does not announce itself.

You should look rested, healthy and beautifully familiar—not frozen, overfilled or transformed into someone else.

You do not have to arrive knowing what treatment you need. You only need a thoughtful place to begin—and a physician you can trust to guide you honestly.
