Vascular Laser Q & A

What is Vascular Laser?

Vascular Laser delivers a brief burst of light that targets blood vessels in the skin. When this light is absorbed, it causes damage to the blood vessel wall. The laser we use, the Vbeam Perfecta, is a pulsed-dye laser and is considered the “gold standard” for vascular lasers. During the weeks following the procedure, the blood vessel is slowly absorbed by the body. Vascular lasers can help with reducing flushing, redness, telangiectasias (broken blood vessels), birthmarks, and overall skin tone.

Is Vascular Laser right for me?

Vascular Laser is an extremely safe and minimally invasive procedure that requires little to no downtime. Patients who would like to target redness, blotchiness, veins, or rosacea are excellent candidates! We are here to walk you through a comprehensive consultation of your skin and create an individualized treatment plan for you with your goals in mind. How often do you recommend vascular lasers? For the best results, we recommend a series of 2-3 treatments, one month apart.

What to expect after your treatment:

Vascular Lasers do have some social downtime. Expect to see pink polka dots, small hives, and small bruises that can last for 1-7 days. You can use ice or chilled aloe vera application to help with healing. The total procedure takes about 30 minutes, with mild discomfort.
